Clothes, Shopping, & Eating Disorders

Here's this past week's Wednesday video. I've talked about this topic before, so I linked to 3 other videos of mine as well towards the end of the video if you are interested in further thoughts/advice/suggestions.

  1. Thanks Arielle!!
I haven't been properly shopping for 4 years now, especially when it comes to jeans/pants! Even though I've been in recovery and I expect myself to be able to handle that but it still hasn't changed.
It's not making me happy because I really need new clothes and I used to love shopping, right now when I'm in town, I don't know how quickly I want to get out of the shops and go home!

  2. I'm not sure where to best ask you questions, or where you respond to them. I've asked a few things before and not gotten a response. I just wondered if you could give me your opinion. I am in recovery, and have been for a year. I am doing pretty well as far as not restricting. However, when I get stressed, I tend to lose my appetite. I know now to eat when I feel hungry, but what if I don't get hungry? I have also learned to not eat if I'm not hungry, so I can prevent binges. I don't ever intentionally not eat meals nowadays, but sometimes just realizing I haven't eaten that day can push me to think "Just a little more." and triggers me. How do I deal with loss of appetite?

  3. Ally - I'm very sorry if you've asked something and not gotten a response yet. I am extremely busy - work 40 hrs/wk, grad school at night, leading a support group, and still trying to find time for blogging and making self-help videos, among other things like keeping house and having time for my husband! I try really hard to keep up with all the emails and comments I get, but I do get behind. I am not sure if you asked a question about a week and a half ago under the username "Allison" but if so, I did get that and responded to the comment to let you know I would respond on my blog soon. I save messages to respond to on the blog when I have the time. I will get to your question ASAP - but please have patience with me, doll!

Take care of yourself and so sorry for the delay!
    Arielle

  4. Thank you so much! I really didn't mean to rush you, I just never see anyone else ask questions on here so I thought I was writing in the wrong place. I totally understand you're busy! Anyways, thank you so much for the advice. I wish I had friends like you!

  5. No problem, Allison. You can always ask me questions by way of comment here or through an email (arielle.becker@gmail.com). A lot of the time, people ask things I have covered (since I've had this blog over 3 years) and I direct them to old posts or videos of mine. :) Take care.
