What To Do About the Overweight/Fat Stigma

I really enjoyed this week's topic for my Wednesday video. Hope you guys do too. Check it out: What to do about the stigma against overweight/fat -

VERY interesting BMI link: http://www.flickr.com/photos/77367764@N00/sets/72157602199008819/- If you click on the photos it tells you the status of the people and it's very eye-opening. BMI is often completely ridiculous.

I saw your link on NOS's blog...I just wanted to encourage you. Yours is such an important voice for young girls. I pray you can go back to school. You definitely have a passion and a heart for this cause.

Blessings,
Tammy

Thanks so much, Tammy. I really appreciate the kind words. :) It looks like after 4 years out of college, I will be going back for my masters this fall! (Can't believe it!) Goal: to keep writing, blogging, and become a counselor and life coach for girls and women struggling with eating disorders. I'm glad you like the blog. Thank you for stopping by.

BMI is often completely ridiculous - I agree. I totally agree.
It's not about how you look. It's not important, at last. It's about how you feel with your body.
I could have a BMI of 16 or 19 or 25 or 31, and it still doesn't care, it's only a number... What hurts the most is to have a body which you don't fit in. Even if your BMI says that it's okay.

Hi Arielle,

I absolutely LOVE your blog. I have been a lurker for a while, and I just wanted to tell you how amazing I think you are. You seem to be so good-hearted and your videos are so helpful. I admire your drive to help others with EDs, I hope to do the same one day when I am further along in recovery.

I just wanted to let you know that your blog has touched my life. So, THANK YOU!!!!!

Stella
