Walking the Walk

I am honored to be a speaker at the 2014 NEDA Walk in Philadelphia, but I'm still walking the walk, so to speak. So in addition to speaking that day, I will be walking and raising money for the cause.

To support me by donating to NEDA and my efforts, you can visit my NEDA page here: Walk with Arielle!

The National Eating Disorders Association's vision is to eliminate eating disorders globally by promoting positive body image and self-esteem and by discouraging dieting behaviors, drive for thinness, and body dissatisfaction. NEDA is recognized and supported by sufferers, families, health care professionals and educators throughout the world. As you can see, raising awareness for this organization is critical in order to create a world where all women, girls and men feel confident about their bodies and are embraced for who they are as individuals, not what they look like. NEDA provides critical programs and services to support individuals and families affected by eating disorders like their National toll-free Helpline, Annual Conference, Parents, Families and Friends Netowrk, NEDA Navigators and Preventative Tookits for Parents and Educators.

I am participating in a NEDA Walk because I care about the cause and believe in NEDA's programs. Donating to my fundraising page is a way for you to demonstrate that you care about increasing positive body image among women, girls and men across the country. Contributing through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts and help me meet my fundraising goal!

Thank you so much for your support. I am able to spread the word about NEDA and eating disorders with the confidence that I will feel embraced by my loved ones. Please help me fill my thermometer by forwarding my page to anyone you think might want to join in the cause with us!

Victimization: It's Not Okay

This week's video focuses on victimization. Stay tuned - this is just the tip of the iceberg. I will discuss bullying more in the coming weeks.

Difference: A Quick Lesson

If you have 3 minutes, give this a listen. "Difference" is a topic so often discussed, but we forget about some things that truly enhance its meaning. Let's go!

Letting Go

An interesting and often un-talked-about topic. My take on learning to live life after a long time in recovery. Recovery doesn't leave you in the lurch. It's always there if you've chosen it, but you can't stop it from letting you live life. Letting go can be a beautiful thing.

Depression as an Obstacle to Recovery from an Eating Disorder

It's a lot to fit into a 15 minute video, so keep in mind that it's not as comprehensive as it could be, but next week I will be delving into some other issues to piggyback on this topic.
